Some good tips. But I find having a really hot shower just before I go to bed helps. I guess its a bit like an all over body sweat; dissipating heat quite well. Then Sleeping in just my underwear, trying not to move too much. Basically I find lying in a star shape helps (much to the annoyance of my wife). Obviously having the window open with a fan circulating the air.

When I was in hospital suffering a flare up in mid summer, I had a fan directed at me at all times. I couldnt sleep in my underwear as I didnt feel comfortable with all the patients and nurses looking at my semi naked body while I slept! The waterproof matress and pillow dont help either. Often making me more hot than I would be at home as they dont allow the air to circulate

Hi Darlene,

I don't really know of any other folks that are taking remicade aside from the folks I talk to who are receiving infusions at the same time as I am. Yes, I am on remicade as well. I have been for about 6 years now and so far so good. So, yes, there are others like you... Plenty of others.

Good luck with your infusion!

Hi. I am new to the blog world so if I am doing this wrong, just let me know! I was very recently diagnosed with Crohn's and have been doing some internet seaches. I found your blog and have enjoyed reading your articles and all. I have a question; have you or any of your "crohnies" been taking remicade? I have been told that I will need to have infusions for the rest of my life and I want to know if there are others like me....
Thank you!

Hello Ben

I found your blog very interesting and funny. Lots of really good stuff on here

I have just set up my own blog, mostly talking about Infliximab.

Im looking to bring other people with Crohns to my site and comment and get involved with any discussions. Leaving their feedback, stories etc. I wonder if I could link your site and mine. Hopefully sending traffic each others way.

I know this sounds cheeky.

Check out meandmycrohns.co.uk

Thanks

I would rather my kids see me die in peace than watch me vomit my fecal matter in agonizing pain. Dogs are treated better than humans... where do you think the term "Inhuman" came from?

Kavorkian was right...

Making brown-25. Another fine product of Uranus Corporation.
Bombing the Tidy-bowl man.
Checking on yesterday's dinner
Shaping the meatloaf
Squeezing the salami
Making room for dinner.
Digging in the cat box.
Operation "Clean Sweep"
Hanging fresh ornaments.
Checking the evacuation route.
Exercising the push-me pull-you
Arranging furniture, moving the stools.
Hanging ten, or at least eight
Launching the DSRV
Seeing off the bus full of colonels (kernels)
Man. That corn was good!

I set this article aside because I feel for Angelique and I am sorry she has gone through such trouble. I am saddened by the loss of such a unique person. BUT, I am not so sure I agree with her approach.

I am not entirely opposed to euthanasia and understand these cases are comprised of individuals in dire straits who don't have any hope for a cure. There is a side of me, however, that feels like it is somewhat of a cop-out and a selfish act because it only considers the immediate patient and not the friends and family around them that are impacted as well. Yes, I understand it may be huge burden to the families and those instances are understood, however there are those cases where the family may disagree with the decision or may not be prepared to "give up" their loved one.

I have a beautiful wife and two wonderful kids and have a hard time thinking I could choose euthanasia when it came down to it.

I don't know, maybe it is just me...
